The Tools
If you have not done so take a look at the documentation of tools available. We will be walking you through the tools used to create the mission in this tutorial step by step. But we wont cover everything. Read below to get familiar with what is available so you know where to go for more information.
Mission editor overview
How to use the mission editor
Editing the terrain
This is how to create your first mission:
Start the Stronghold demo. Then press F11. When the world editor loads, select File / New Mission. Then select File / Save As and give your new mission a new name. Thats it. I assume you have no idea what I'm talking about so... I'll show you step by step. Now, for the play by play... below:
Start the Stronghold demo
Start / Programs / TGEA 1.7.0 SDK / Stronghold Demo

When the demo loads select the start mission button at the top of the list of buttons on the lower left of the screen:

Select the Stronghold Mission and click the "Launch Mission!" button on the lower right.

Using the Misson Editor
Now press F11. When the world editor loads, select File / New Mission as seen below:

Easy as pie.
You should have something like what you see below:
Save your new Mission
Before we go any further making customizations, save your new mission with a new name. If you don't save it with a new name you will end up editing the new mission template.
Change the mission name. This is what will display in the "Start Mission" list.
Select the Mission Info Folder in the Mission Editor Box.
Select file / Save as

Give your mission a matching new file name and save it. Congratulations! You have created your first mission!
When you press the start mission button again you will see your new mission in the mission list of the "Start Mission" window.
