"If the changes you are making to your script files are not showing when you run the engine - Check the console after each unexpected result for grey or red errors :) You access the console by pressing the tilde (~) key on your keyboard."

It may sound silly, but also make sure that you are scrolled all the way down in the console window. I noticed that sometimes the Console doesn't always make the most recent error visible in the window.
