Coming Soon!

We apologize, but the Maya DTS Exporter FAQ is still in the process of being developed. We should have something for you October 1. Until then, thanks for your interest!

Question: Why are my detail markers not working correctly in game or in Torque Show Tool Pro?

Answer: If you have problems exporting DTS shapes from Maya, there are a few key things to keep in mind. Number one, make certain that your node in maya is named correctly. For example, if you have a detail node labeled detail_64 instead of detail64, it will not work. The same thing is true for the geometry inside of Maya. If you have a character or object that consists of multiple meshes, they must be labeled accordingly. For example, if you have a character that consists of one helmet mesh, one torso mesh, and two eye meshes, you would want to label them similar to the following:

helmet64, torso64, leftEye64, rightEye64.Question: When setting up the .cfg file for export of model, how should IK handes, Pole Vectors, and Controllers (nurb circles) be handled? Its necessary for doing animation in the future, but is the model still dependant on it once it leaves Maya?
